I think that very often we women ask ourselves what is our purpose in life, but more than anything, what is God’s purpose for our lives? We can find answers to our questions and doubts according to the women of the Bible.
Let’s remember that we are much more than we think we are. We are warriors like Deborah, worshipers like Miriam, loving like Mary, wise like Esther, and persistent like Anna.
The Bible has several examples of God-fearing women who made a difference in their time. These women stood out and demonstrated that God uses us all to fulfill His purposes.
The Bible also mentions that numerous women faithfully followed Jesus, earning them eternal honor. These women displayed greater courage and affectionate devotion to their Lord and Master than even the disciples did. While the disciples fled, the women remained steadfast. They were the last to leave the foot of the cross and the first to arrive at the tomb (Mark 15:40, Matthew 27:56). This is remarkable considering the cultural context of two thousand years ago when women were often viewed as inferior. However, with the arrival of Jesus, everything changed. He treated women with dignity and respect, as seen in his interactions with the woman with the issue of bleeding, the Samaritan woman at the well, and the woman caught in adultery. Through his compassionate actions, Jesus showed these women their true worth, unlocking within them a sense of security, honor, adoration, and ultimately, a willingness to serve and follow Him.
Women who also inspire me to serve the Lord and teach me new things are the ones I live with daily like my mother, my sister, my friends, and my co-workers at 61 Isaiah. I hope that these examples of women from the Bible help you find the emotional and spiritual inspiration you need. Remember, you are an instrument of the Lord, and you have priceless value as His daughter. Have faith in where God is taking you and let this help you as a daily reminder that God works in you every day. One of the ways to thank Him for what He does for us is by sharing the gospel like the women of the Bible.
