Back-To-School

Back-To-School

Back-to-school time always brings a feeling of starting fresh; feelings of nostalgia for new boxes of crayons, a new backpack, shiny shoes. The fun part of being a teacher is that I still get to do all that. I even got a new backpack this year! But my favorite back-to-school item is my planner; I weirdly special-ordered it to have a place for lesson plans, grades, notes, a calendar, and various other sections. I love it when I get to start writing in it; making plans for the year; looking expectantly for what the year will hold. And this week the kids started back, which adds to my love for the new school year. I really do love my job. I love watching “my kids” grow. I have known the current seniors since they were in preschool. I have taught over half the student population and still get to see them each day. See the maturity. Watch their dreams come true. See when they come to the Lord (of which we had about a dozen this past year). And I am blessed to work at a school that prioritizes prayer and relationship with the Lord. I am even more blessed to teach alongside teachers who love the Lord and pour into our students. On that note, enjoy some pictures of our first days of school… and say a prayer for all of us teachers, worldwide!
