61 Isaiah Field-Based Team
61 Isaiah Ministries works with a people group called the Lenca in the mountains of Western Honduras. Our vision is to glorify God by sharing the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Through building relationships and walking with people, individuals are empowered to break cycles of poverty and become participants in the Great Commission. The Core Values of 61 Isaiah Ministries are:
Prayer
It is our hope that Honduras would be consistently covered in prayer. We invite you to join us in prayer at 9:38 each day. Matthew 9:38 says, “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send the workers”. It is our prayer that God sends workers not only from the nations but also raises up workers here in Honduras. We also invite you to join our prayers in inviting the Holy Spirit to move and work in Honduras.
Gospel Saturation
It is our desire to share the good news of the Gospel by making personal relationships. There are three avenues in which we are able to share the Gospel. The 61 Isaiah team is a direct avenue that looks for opportunities to build relationships and to walk alongside those we encounter so that we can share the Gospel. The second avenue in which the Gospel is shared is through the partnership with mission teams that reach out to the villages and communities in Honduras. The final avenue that is used to share the Gospel is through Radio Rio de Dios. The Radio is able to reach those we are not able to and is saturating Western Honduras with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Education
We believe that education is a powerful tool to lead others to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and to disciple future leaders. We are missionaries in the local school to teach and pour into young men and women of the community. It is through leading these young students in Bible studies, educating them to integrate their faith in every area, and sharing the love of Christ with them that we are able to invite them to join us in the Great Commission. Not only are they being educated, but they are able to receive spiritual, mental, and career counseling as they continue to pursue the plans they make after school.
Empowering the Local People
It is our responsibility to share the Gospel, but also make disciples. Through regional discipleship groups and monthly leadership training, we are working to empower and equip the local leaders to become participants in sharing the Gospel, making disciples, planting churches, and ministering to their community. We long to see Hondurans sent out to new communities, new areas, and to the nations.
Breaking Cycles of Poverty
It is our heart to help those in need. We must help those who are in the middle of crisis situations such as lack of food, medicine, and basic necessities for survival. However, we must also work to improve communities to reduce these times of crises. It is our heart to help people face their medical crisis, to change the cycles of hunger by allowing the local people to cultivate the Hunger Farm in Gracias, and to work with individuals to create long-term solutions through small businesses. It is our hope to be able to train them in finances so that they are able to meet their own basic needs and be able to help their communities get out of their cycles of poverty.
