Rosa Castro is a previous student of both Shannon and Kristi at Vida Abudante Escuela in Gracias. She is one of the most energetic, positive and joyous translators that has worked with us. It has been her dream to study in the United States. Since June 2015, we have been working with Rosita to help her accomplish her dream. In January 2016, she left for Texas. She is currently working towards her nursing degree at Navarro College in Texas.
Rosita is having a blast, making new friends and experiencing a new culture. She says that technology is one of her biggest struggles. I suppose that every school in the US has smart-boards, computers, ect. but we don’t. So trying to figure out how to turn her homework in through a virtual classroom is a bit tricky. And just like most freshman, learning time-management is hard thing! Overall though, she is having a great time… and hopefully learning a few things too. Thank you to all of you who prayed for or volunteered to help her as she got settled in Texas. Thank you to the Waxahachie people who have taken her to ride horses, eat dinner and in general made her feel at home in our great state. Currently, she is still in need of $4000 to finish paying for college for the year.
