When we arrived 3 months ago, we bought the necessities which included beds, mattresses, wardrobes, a stove, refrigerator, washer and later a couch. However, the kitchen table didn’t make the cut as a necessity so we have been sitting on the floor. It kind of bothered me at first but after a while I didn’t give it much thought, knowing that we are WAY better off than the majority of people here. We did however have many spilled drinks and broken glasses since they sat on the ground. Then last month we received word that the wonderful people at Teague raised money for us to buy a table and other furniture that we need. This was such a HUGE blessing since they have done so much for us already. We went right away to the carpenter and showed him a picture of what I wanted to see if it was cheaper to buy one in the store or have it made. As usual, it is cheaper to have it made because labor is so cheap. We ordered a table and a desk for Shannon to work on (this was one month ago). Yesterday, when I arrived home from school, Shannon had picked it up from the carpenter. It is so beautiful! I love it! I am attaching pictures of my new table and of the other rooms in our house now that they are completely furnished. There are still some small things that I would like to do, like paint but over all we have a wonderful home here. While these three months here have been some of the hardest of my life, I can now say that I am beginning to enjoy living here. A lot of this is due to the generosity of you and the prayers that you have lifted up for us. I am humbled by how much we are shown love and have been prayed for. Thank you!
