Well, I will be moving to Honduras in just three days….. It doesn’t feel real to me yet. This is a mission I have prayed and thought about for over a year now. I am beyond excited for many reasons.
The past few days I have been helping with a sale to raise some more funds. I will be honest, it’s been a very long week but there’s something about working alongside a close friend that makes it so worth it. (other than the fact that it is for a cause greater than myself) My friend Audra Davis is one of the most influential people in my life. Whether she knows it or not, I have always watched her and admired her for her character. She is absolutely resilient, fearless, and passionate about Jesus. I have always admired her for her faith and have prayed to have even a portion of hers. Being her friend has inspired me to trust and hope in God through every season, because I know she has seen many difficult seasons come and go.
The sale initially did not go the way Audra desired for it to. I listened to her share her feelings of discouragement on the second day, but by the third day I got to hear her share what the Lord revealed to her during that time. There was a mission right in the neighborhood we were hosting the sale in. There was a community we had the opportunity to reach out to and speak to. I watched Audra pour into several people who came in, and saw her give joyfully. It encouraged me to do and be the same with anybody I come across. It reminded me of everything I have learned in my past experiences in Honduras.
I am grateful that I got the opportunity to work with her and the other ministries involved. The funds raised have basically helped me reach my ultimate goal. It’s incredible to see the Lord provide just a few days before I leave. He is faithful and I am overwhelmed by all He has done the past few weeks. And I am SO excited to be heading to Honduras. Even though I really don’t know what to expect in many ways. This will be a new season, possibly a difficult one, but I know it will be awesome. I can’t wait to be there, but I will never forget the ways in which others have poured into me at home. It is because of close friends like Audra that I have seen God work in amazing ways. I hope to be used in such a way for others, wherever I am.
